Abstract

This study aimed to introduce the realistic intellectual model in the analysis of international politics, the most prominent theories contained in this model, and the most important developments that have followed it during the past six decades. Therefore, the material of our research revolves around the analysis and evaluation of the theory of realism throughout its history, starting from the contributions of its founder Hans Morjantho to the theses of John Mearsheimer, who is one of its most prominent theorists in the post-Cold War era and the pioneer of what is known as offensive realism, through a presentation that showed the challenges and criticisms that faced the realistic model during the past six decades, and the intellectual responses and refuted responses provided by realists in the framework of addressing the challenges and criticisms that were directed at their model, and then determine the success of The realistic model in retaining its advanced place among the theories of international political analysis
