The interactions of international and regional powers in the Syrian crisis: a forward-looking study

Abstract

The Syrian crisis has seen many regional and international players such as Iran and Turkey and the United States and Russia; all are seeking to find a solution to the crisis in Syria. However, all attempts have failed because these parties are trying to shape the Syrian crisis to serve their interests.
The research problem focuses on the hesitation of the international powers to make effective proposals of the Syrian crisis to satisfy all parties, which led to exacerbate the crisis, Thus, the Syrian crisis has become a state of confusion in which the balances and interests in the positions of the major countries are mixed.
The researcher relies on analytical descriptive approach, which is subjected to analysis and description of the Syrian crisis and its developments and regional and international positions, and to identify the most important factors and circumstances surrounding the Syrian crisis in light of the conflict and external interference of many major countries and neighboring countries. The research also presents a number of expected scenarios that explain the end of the crisis according to specific criteria, including the optimistic scenario as well as the presentation of the pessimistic scenario, through the provision of possible alternatives.
