Mechanisms to improve the global competitiveness of the Egyptian economy

The development and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian economy are central objectives in the economic sphere of the economic development strategy of Egypt 2030. As the Egyptian economy is still far from the position it deserves in the global Competitiveness index and in its three components as the basic requirements index, the efficiency enhancers’ index and Innovation and sophistication factors, this research aims to develop mechanisms to improve the global competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
To achieve this goal, the scientific method was used to identify and analyze the development of the global competitiveness rank of the Egyptian economy and its comparative situation with some neighbouring countries. The study reached to several recommendations, one of the most important is the adoption of reform policies aimed to restructuring and reforming of macroeconomic imbalances specially, the deficit of the state budget, the worsening of public debt and the inflationary pressures with creating an enabling, balanced and sustainable economic environment to achieve its competitiveness in the global economy.
