This study aims at analyzing democratic diffusion in three essential dimensions: the first is mechanisms by which this process takes place, the second is the trajectories of democratic diffusion, and the third is the factors by which this process can be explained. These issues were applied on the impact of the arab revolutions on Asian countries. The study concluded that learning, competition, and emulation are the three mechanisms through which democratic diffusion occurs, it concluded also that democratic diffusion has three different trajectories: success, failure and preemptive reforms, the study identified three determinants of the success of democratic diffusion which are democratic western leverage, linkage to democratic systems, and efficiency of communication. The study concluded that democratic diffusion resulted from the Arab revolutions had failed in Asia due to the weak links and leverage that connect democratic societies with Asian countries, and the measures adopted by those countries which affected the efficiency of communication negatively.
