Abstract

This research aimed to introduce the impact of the global system on regional systems, with a case study of the Arab regional system during the period 1955-1967 and its impact on the reality of the international bipolar system at that time. This is done by identifying the most important regional variables, the nature of Arab interactions, whether Arab/Arab, or Arab/international, and the impact of the state of regional competition and the Arab Cold War on Arab/Arab relations, and how all political variables related to that period affect the balance and stability of the Arab regional system, and in general, the study falls in the context of what is known as the theory of international formats as one of the important theories in the analysis of contemporary international relations.
