The impact of the World Trade Organization on Kuwaiti national sovereignty

Abstract

This study aimed to know the impact of the World Trade Organization on Kuwaiti national sovereignty، through studying the World Trade Organization، its importance، its most important roles، the concept of national sovereignty and its most important theories، and the aspects of restricting state sovereignty within the framework of the World Trade Organization. I used the descriptive and analytical method to interpret and analyze its role and functions and the impact of that on Kuwaiti national sovereignty. The study found an effect of the World Trade Organization on the national sovereignty of member states، including the State of Kuwait. And its commitment to all its conditions، even if at the expense of national laws. One of its most important negative effects on the State of Kuwait was the infringement of national sovereignty، by controlling the share of the State of Kuwait from the returns of companies privatized to external parties، or withholding this percentage from the state entirely، in addition to preventing Kuwait from conserving many of the procedures and laws، and the organization’s requirement to The state applies it even if it does not agree with the public interest of the state.
