Abstract

This study seeks to compare the U.S. Foreign Policy in Latin America during the period of Obama and Trump administrations by focusing on the immigration issue، the Venezuelan crisis and the Chinese، Russian and Iranian presence in the backyard of the U.S. The study concludes that the Republican and the Democratic parties did not differ much in dealing with the immigration issue. Regarding the Venezuelan crisis، the Foreign policy of the U.S.A towards Venezuela was consistent and aims at establishing a democratic regime in Venezuela. Finally، the interference of China، Russia and Iran in Latin America is part of their conflict with the U.S. for the spheres of influence in light of the aim of the latter to stay as the only regional hegemony in the world in the western hemisphere.
