Strategic alliances as a tool to achieve competitiveness of industrial clusters by application to the leather industry in Egypt during the period (2004-2017)

Abstract

Many countries are adopting the strategy of "industrial clusters" due to the great interest that the latter has received from the countries of the world, as the best tool to enhance the productive and competitive capabilities of small and medium enterprises, in addition to their ability to activate the economic interdependence and interdependence of countries and reduce the risks of globalization and competition with imported products, Especially with the ongoing liberalization of markets. The study assumed that industrial clusters help SMEs overcome technological and small-scale problems. The study aimed to clarify how SMEs should have an active role and contribution to the national economy. The development of these institutions and the promotion of their role, especially in developing countries The study concluded that the existence of a group of strategic alliances lead to achieve the highest level of efficiency and competitiveness, and achieve reduction of costs, through the participation in fixed costs, which is difficult for each facility on its own to provide mechanisms
