Economics of logistical development in Egyptian customs under the ACI pre-registration system for shipments

Abstract

The Egyptian customs suffers from administrative and logistical complications, the length of the customs clearance period and its high costs affects the facilitation of trade and the competitiveness of Egyptian market. Egypt had recently applied the Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) system, with the failure of Risk Management system (Stopping radiation detection devices), as well as the single window system (with the absence of technological infrastructure), this study aims to frame and analyze the expected role of applying (ACI), knowing its requirements , researching the positives, negatives and obstacles of its application and international experiences, leading to the development and simplification of customs procedures, and foreign trade facilitation.
