This research deals with the evaluation of French foreign policy towards Africa in the post-Cold War era, by presenting the development of French-African relations, the France Afrique regime in the Cold War era and beyond, and the promises made by the presidents of the Fifth French Republic during that, regarding distancing On special relations with African countries, and the extent to which those promises are compatible with the actual practice of French foreign policy towards the African continent in the post-Cold War era. This research is divided into two sections: the first focuses on the special relations between France and Africa during the Cold War era, while in the second we try to evaluate the policy of French presidents (Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy, and François Hollande) in the post-Cold War era.
