Abstract

The study sought to determine the repercussions of the relationship between the state and society on the legislative development governing civil society by focusing on the case study of Law No. 149 of 2019.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are: In the previous periods that Egypt witnessed, the relationship between the state and civil society was characterized by tension and mistrust. After the January 2011 and June 2013 revolutions, the demand for the establishment of associations and the practice of civil work increased. Law 149 of 2019 is also an important and positive step on which to build bridges of trust between the state and civil society, and it shows the state's desire to enhance the principle of participation in development.
