The repercussions of the Gulf diplomatic crisis on political stability in Lebanon

Abstract

This study title is the implications of the Gulf diplomatic crisis on political stability in Lebanon. the study started with the development of Saudi Lebanese relations then presented the current diplomatic crisis between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Lebanon on the background of old statements by the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Qardahi, hostile to the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the war in Yemen. Which considered biasd towards the Houthi militia by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This due to tension in the Gulf-Lebanese relations, which led to a diplomatic crisis on the part of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Yemen. Reactions inside Lebanon also varied between reprehensible positions, while Iran's allies in Lebanon applauded it, namely Hezbollah and the Amal movement, which deepened the internal Lebanese crisis. Then the study dealt with the reaction inside Lebanon, which was represented in the bullying of the external role, especially the American and French, after the measures taken by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries, which practically lead to isolating the country as a reaction to the hegemony of “Hezbollah” on power in Lebanon. Then the study presented the internal turmoil and environment in Lebanon. In the conclusion, it dealt with the scenarios of the crisis and the future of political stability in Lebanon in three scenarios (more escalation - delineating a road map to get out of the crisis - the emergence of an American French role with the prolongation of the crisis and fears of its recurrence).
