the central objective of this paper is to discover the fact of power concept by surveying the most prominent contemporary literature in the field of international relations , as well as identifying the nature of power in the various theories of power (hard, soft, smart, and sharp). According to the research topic and aims, the study was divided into four parties and conclusion. The study concluded several results, which are; the concept of the soft power had grown by figures like Joseph Nye after the end of cold war. The study concluded that a lot of theorists recognize the difficulty of the absolute quantitative estimation of all dimensions of hard power. The study also concluded that the concept of sharp power is related to the major authoritarian power or poles of non-democratic countries such as Russia and China
