Abstract

The study aims to identify the impact of the arms race between the major powers (the United States, China and Russia) on global security since 2014, through four axes: The first is the theoretical and conceptual rooting of the arms race, the second is the concept and theories of global security, the third is the indicators and evidence of the new arms race, and the fourth is the repercussions of the arms race between major powers on the future of global security. The study concluded that the arms race has turned into a title for international relations, and a criterion by which international superiority is measured. Countries have provided many of their capabilities, squandered many of their national wealth for the sake of armaments, and engaged in a frantic race, which represents an unprecedented threat to the global security system. The scenario of the arms race could push international crises to erupt again or calm them down, and the matter is related to the negotiations of the United States with both Russia and China regarding the arms race.
