Abstract

The pattern of the organizational relationship between the social movement and the movement party is a reflection of an organizational heritage within the social movement that preceded the establishment of the movement party. This organizational heritage may produce different organizational models, affecting the ability of parties to institutionalize, and thus political survival.
One of the most important dimensions of this institutionalization is the party's organizational autonomy. The study discussed three parties belonging to the currents of political Islam. It turns out that there are three different organizational models for the relationship between the movement and the movement party. They are models: multifunctional organization model, embodiment model and the functional differentiation model.
The study concluded that the greater the independence of the movement party from the social movement that established it, the greater its capacity for internal institutionalization, which may lead to a higher chance of its political survival.
