Abstract

Many studies refer to the Russian-Ukrainian war as a proxy war between the West and Russia, especially ‎after Ukraine officially announced the formation of an international legion of volunteers, mercenaries, and ‎elements of private security and military companies from all countries of the world, to help confront ‎Russia. On the other hand, Russia summoned the Wagner Company stationed in Syria and Libya to ‎participate in its military operation with Ukraine, but the war is still ongoing, which makes it difficult to ‎consider it a model at the present time. ‎
The intervention of military and security companies in the Middle East, whether in Libya, Syria, Iraq and ‎other countries is clear, and can be considered a model of proxy war. The Blackwater Company in Iraq ‎presents a model of these companies and its problems. Accordingly, the study focused on the role of the ‎Blackwater Company, and the work it did, which was initially providing logistical support to the American ‎army, then its role evolved to participating in military operations and the use of heavy weapons and ‎military aircraft, and the matter did not stop at this point, but these elements were monitored In the first ‎ranks of the US Army during its military operations in Iraq.‎
