Abstract
The study focused on social movements and their impact on the Corona pandemic and the restrictions it imposed, as social movements faced many challenges and restrictions in light of the Corona pandemic (COVID-19 pandemic). Governments of countries to confront this epidemic and prevent it from spreading, especially policies related to social divergence, staying at home, and the total closure of all vital places, and protests, demonstrations, gatherings, and various activities carried out by social movements were prohibited, in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
The study concluded that despite these challenges, social movements did not disappear during the Corona pandemic, as some social movements continued their activity in many countries of the world, and new movements appeared in the political arena, especially due to the Corona pandemic, as a result of the exacerbation of the issues that these movements denounce, especially Issues of democracy, racism, economic inequality, public health issues, etc. These movements were able to adapt to the pandemic and continue to be active despite the pandemic, due to the modification of their protest strategies, and the adoption of new methods and tactics for protest, which enabled them to be active during the pandemic, as she indicated The study indicates that the protest that took place during the pandemic was not a traditional protest, as the social movements used some new tactics and strategies and modern mobilization processes, which enabled them to adapt to the pandemic and carry out their primary role and function, which is protest.
