This study aims to analyze the American and Russian attitudes towards the Syrian crisis during the administrations of Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin and shed light on the motives behind the American and Russian intervention in the crisis, while interpreting the impact of the intervention on the course of the Syrian crisis, using a descriptive approach and a case study methodology. The study revolved around the hypothesis that "the more competition between the United States and Russia in the Middle East, the more crises in the Middle East will increase." The study concluded that Syria has a position in many areas, not only geopolitically, but also economically with its energy capabilities, which made the major international and regional powers rush towards it, exploiting the chaos. Any solutions to the Syrian crisis are linked to the concordance between the two major powers, the United States and Russia. The victim of this competition was the Syrian people, as most Syrian civilians have become either refugees or victims of wars.
