Abstract

Logistics services play a pivotal role in driving foreign trade, attracting increased attention from both developed and developing nations. Singapore, recognizing this significance, has prioritized enhancing its logistical performance to expand its foreign trade. This study aimed to analyze the evolution of foreign trade (including goods, services, and total) in Singapore, alongside the comprehensive logistics services performance index and its sub-indices from 2007 to 2022. Additionally, it sought to evaluate the impact of the logistics services performance index on foreign trade across a group of countries. Employing a deductive approach and utilizing descriptive analytical and quantitative analysis methods, the study revealed several key findings. Notably, it identified a significant positive correlation between the logistics services performance index and exports among the selected group of countries. Furthermore, the study provided recommendations, underscoring the importance for developing nations to enhance their logistics performance by prioritizing the development of comprehensive transportation infrastructure. This strategic initiative would enable them to strengthen their export capabilities and contribute to their economic progress.
