Abstract

The climate change crisis serves as a prime model of a global, transnational issue arising from the context of globalization, which has complicated and intertwined its various dimensions. Due to the severity of this crisis, numerous studies have focused on official responses, examining structural factors, analyzing government policies, exploring the relationship between developed and developing countries, and assessing the role of organizations in promoting environmental policies. This study, however, takes a different approach by emphasizing the informal aspect of the response, specifically human behavior and the dynamics between societies and governments, and how people perceive their role in addressing these changes.
Falling within the field of political psychology, this research aims to identify the psychological factors influencing individuals' responses to climate change. It analyzes the psychological systems governing these responses and the motivation for environmental action, presenting an analytical model of behavior from a psychological-political perspective. The study seeks to answer key questions:What psychological systems influence individuals' responses to climate change, and the drive for environmental action? What are the major obstacles to this response, and how can they be overcome?
The study is divided into two main sections. The first section, Climate Change and the Crises of the Globalization Era: Framework and Context, The second section analyzes the psychological framework governing individuals' responses to climate change .
The findings highlight the psychological element as a critical factor in political phenomena and offer broader opportunities for unconventional solutions that can lead to real, fundamental leadership and societal change over time.
